'Pinksie The Whale' Cufflinks
myminifactory
The first in a line of men's and women's jewelry inspired by "Pinksie the Whale." Who is Pinksie? Pinksie is an innovative project that began in London in 2012 with the mission to teach children to celebrate diversity, foster imagination, and care for others. Pinksie was born from the friendship between six women who believe individuality and creativity should be nurtured in every child's learning experience. Pinksie's activities are inspired by "Pinksie the Whale" books that follow a pink whale overcoming her fear of being different through adventures. Each year, the Pinksie team collaborates with schools, artists, galleries, and museums to run creative workshops, exhibitions, and readings while donating proceeds from fundraising events to children's charities and funding free workshops in schools. Printed on my Ultimaker 2 at 0.6mm using Faberdashery Punk Star Pink PLA. These small characters were remodeled from the original Pinksie, and the cufflink part was purchased from a UK supplier: CKB Ltd. With some glue, they came out great! No support or rafts needed. Next up is a ladies' brooch and maybe a necklace piece? Watch this space...
