'Pinksie the Whale' Cufflinks
pinshape
The first in a line of 'Pinksie the Whale' men's and women's jewelry pieces. Who is Pinksie? Pinksie is an inspiring project that started in London in 2012 with the goal of teaching kids to appreciate diversity, think creatively, and help others. The website for Pinksie is http://www.pinksie.org/en/. Pinksie was born from a friendship between six women who believe individuality and creativity should be encouraged in every child's education. Pinksie's activities are inspired by the "Pinksie the Whale" books about a pink whale who overcomes her fear of being different through her adventures. Each year, the Pinksie team works with schools, artists, galleries, and museums to run creative workshops, exhibitions, and readings, with proceeds from fundraising events going towards chosen children's charities and keeping workshop funding free in the school. These little characters were remodeled from the original Pinksie and the cufflink part was purchased from a UK supplier: CKB Ltd http://www.ckb.uk.com/pack-of-10-5-pairs-10mm-plate---blank-cufflink-backs-4139-p.asp, with some glue, they turned out great! No support or rafts were needed. Next up is a lady's brooch and maybe a necklace piece? Watch this space... Enjoy! Print Settings: Rafts - No, Supports - No, Resolution - Highest resolution your printer will achieve - 0.1mm or finer, Infill - High infill. These cufflinks require a 10mm based blank cufflink, my UK-based one is http://www.ckb.uk.com/pack-of-10-5-pairs-10mm-plate---blank-cufflink-backs-4139-p.asp. Use strong epoxy-type glue to fix Pinksie to the mount.
