Pink Stiffy
pinshape
Summary An experiment in printing hollow arms and a monocoque chassis for an ultra-lightweight, indoor brushed quadcopter design that seeks to achieve the strength and crashworthiness of my lightweight Gnat design while boasting improved stiffness and handling capabilities. Designed to be printed using PETG with 7 X 20 mm motors, a recycled Nano QX flight board, and 300mAh 1S Lipos, it will support most of the available 25 mW cameras/transmitters on the market. I have strong doubts that this design will function effectively in ABS or PLA but it has flown several successful indoor racing evenings with our local group using PETG. Despite the fact that the arms are only 1 mm thick tubes (the motor wires run down the inside of the arms), it has survived numerous impacts with gates, walls, and the ground.
