Meet Pingelin. A very nice and calm little guy. All he wants is to wander around, thinking, just for himself, confidently nodding his little head. Pingelin is an advanced print-in-place toy. When you drive him around he will nod with the head, in a beautiful animated manner. It should be an faily easy print, if your printer is properly calibrated and the filament is of a good quality. There may be two common troubles though: The print may be knoked off the print bed. If so, a great idea would be to use a gluestick and enable z-hop. Another problem that you may encounter, is that, after printing, the wheel is not turning around. This is, almost certainly, due to stringing inside the model. You may be able to remove the strings, carefully, using an exacto knife. But finetuning the printer is probably a better solution. After printing, you simply need to break off the two built-in supports attached to the base. You may have a look at the video, to see how that is done. It is also recomended to file the wheel a little where the support was. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QZZ9yIzuGM8 The driving surface should not be too smooth, as pla is not the best material for wheels. But it would drive perfectly on most surfaces. I have a similiar model called "Ducksie". The interesting thing to note here is that they use different mechanical concepts. Ducksie has a moving neck, while Pingelin has a pivot point, just below the head. Get Ducksie here: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4877235 I suggest to use the model with included supports. The model with no supports, is meant for if you would like to change the scale and add your own supports. Have fun!
