One of the most straightforward robot designs leverages a ping pong ball instead of a coaster or free wheel, optimized for use with 3 mm plywood. To assemble this project, gather the following components: 12 M3 x 10 nuts, 4 sets consisting of 45 mm spacers, screws, and nuts each, 4 sets comprising 12 mm spacers, screws, and nuts each, a standard-sized 4xAA battery case, one ping pong ball, two plastic gearbox DC motors with straight wheels, as well as a driver and microcontroller.
