PING))) mount
thingiverse
Recently, I purchased the "4WD Arduino Compatible Mobile Platform" and decided to add PING))) distance sensors to it. After obtaining FreeCAD, I spent a few hours meticulously designing a model that could accommodate these sensors. The PING sensor easily fitted into the design; however, the mounting holes required drilling to an appropriate size – which took only a couple of twists by hand using a Dremel and 3mm bit. The base's holes were strategically positioned to allow secure mounting on the platform while maintaining compatibility with the sensor. The sensor used in my model is a Parallax PING))) ultrasonic sensor, specifically a 2005 Rev.A version. During assembly, I took extra precautions to ensure that the mount didn't dislodge any of the surface-mount components on the sensor's backside. Despite tight tolerances, your print settings will significantly impact the final output. To use this model, simply print and enjoy the seamless integration of the PING sensor with the 4WD Arduino Compatible Mobile Platform.
