Paint supporters for pinewood derby cars are a must. To set them up, follow these steps: 1. Mark two drill holes on the bottom of your car, 100mm apart. 2. Drill pilot holes with a 1/16" bit, but don't go all the way through - it depends on your car's shape. 3. Use a 1/8" bit to make bigger holes from the pilots, keeping in mind the depth will vary based on your car's design. 4. Place your car on the supporters and get ready to prime, remembering any special precautions for the paint you're using.
