In 1953, Don Murphy embarked on creating a wholesome, constructive activity that would strengthen the bond between father and son, promote craftsmanship, and encourage good sportsmanship through friendly competition. Within one year of its inception, the Pinewood Derby had been adopted by all Cub Scout packs nationwide. It's estimated that over 100 million Cub Scouts have participated in this event over the past 55 years, as reported in a 2008 issue of Scouting magazine. This box is designed to verify whether a Pinewood Derby car meets the rules for racing, as set forth by Pine Township Pack 344 (Seneca District): Max. Length ≤ 7 inches (the box is set slightly higher at 7.1 inches to allow for some flexibility) Max. Width ≤ 2-3/4 inches Wheel Base ≥ 1-3/4 inches Bottom Clearance ≥ 3/8 inch Front-End Flat (to ensure contact with the starting pin) ≥ 1/4 inch Instructions: Print the .stl file using 2 shells and an infill of at least 15 percent. Break off the corner pancakes by scoring them with a razor and snapping them into place. Enforce your Pinewood Derby rules during inspection to ensure everything meets the standards.
