Pinewood Derby Drilling Wedge
thingiverse
I've assisted young people in crafting pinewood derby cars, not only with my own kids but also with numerous Scouts from Pack 629 in San Diego. For years, I relied on a drilling guide tool to ensure the back wheels of the PWD car had precisely angled wheels at 2.5 degrees. However, the kids encountered difficulties inserting the drill holder into the spinning drill, and one instance even resulted in the drill bit breaking. To simplify this process, I devised an angled drilling wedge that makes it easy to drill a perfect 2.5-degree hole on the PWD car. You can also opt for a 0-degree bend wedge if you prefer a straight hole. Please note that using a drill press is essential for this project to be successful.
