Pinewood Derby Car Violin

<p>Made this pinewood derby car based upon a violin.</p> <h3>Instructions</h3> <p>My son and I made this. He started the design in 123d and inkscape and then we moved it into viacad for the final version.</p> <p>First we decided how to cut the block of wood and I modeled that in viacad.</p> <p>Then we imported the pictures into viacad and traced the violin body and scroll in 2d and extruded them into 3d.</p> <p>Then we subtracted block of wood to get the violin to fit on car block.</p> <p>The violin trings were made from scrap filament.</p> <p>The f holes and pegs were glued on.</p> <p>The print was done on printrbot plus with gold and black 3mm ABS.</p> <p>The car body was stained.</p> Category: Vehicles
