We're creating a Pinewood derby car that mimics a Lamborghini police vehicle this year, and what's a police car without a distinctive light bar? We crafted a small circuit using the versatile 555 timer chip and two Blue LED lights. To achieve the desired effect, we needed to add some lighting effects to diffuse the LED's and create a police car look.
