Pinewood Derby Axle Mount
thingiverse
Pinewood Derby Axle Mount with a deliberate 1-degree tilt when mounted perfectly level. This precisely fits snugly into the axle slot of a standard pinewood derby block, allowing for effortless alignment and secure gluing in place. The standard-issue nail/axle inserts about 5 mm of the nail at the back, providing a comfortable fit. It fits snugly, with no need for glue on the ones I printed. There is less than 1 mm of slack on the wheel hub and under .5 mm on either side – an incredibly small amount. The wheel can be easily removed to apply graphite and replaced just as quickly. A built-in -1 degree of camber is cleverly designed into the hole, visible in the 3D model view but not immediately apparent to the naked eye.
