Note: This was remixed from a model on Thingiverse and is now imported here.

Update: I printed this and all the tips I have (including the longest tip I have, TS-ILS) fit. Also, check out the comments to find where to get the adapter!

I saw this case and really liked how it could hold more tips and allow the option to hold a USB C to barrel jack connector, but I had a Pinecil instead. Therefore, I adjusted erudioCAD's design a bit to hold a Pinecil as well as other QOL design changes for other tips. Check out erudioCAD's channel; his design process in CAD is really interesting and I learned a bunch from seeing how he designed the case. I didn't know that drafting and filleting a slot would produce such geometry. :O

Will Hold

See https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4771045, this holds the same thing

Design Notes

Seeing the original design, there were a couple problems with it:

(Issue) Tips that aren't the original TS-B2 tip (extreme examples are TS-ILS and TS-C4 tips) don't fit in the original design.

The Pinecil doesn't fit in it (of course)

If the Pinecil is slotted in, the silicone grip makes it difficult to take out.

The Pinecil uses a Philips head to secure the tip, rendering the hex key slot useless (unless you can fit something else in it)

This fixes these issues and adds one thing that I thought would be nice. There's now a slot on the bottom of the case to help push it out (or plug it to a power source to change settings on it for some reason). You can also plug the slot up with the cap if you don't think it's necessary with another separate part or use the cap to assist with pushing the unit out. Hopefully these changes make this case an option for Pinecil users!

As an aside, I also put in the adjusted model for the TS100 as well since it's not too much of a hassle, though there's no hole on the bottom to assist in taking it out. The step files for both versions are also available if you want to change them as well. Also, I decided to keep the logo on this model per erudioCAD's description, but you're welcome to message me to send you a logo-less model as well.

Print Settings

Printer Brand:

Creality

Printer:

Ender 3 Pro

Rafts:

No

Supports:

No

Resolution:

0.3 mm

Infill:

15

Filament: eSun PLA Blue

Notes:

Print with flask base on the build plate. No supports should be needed like the original model and any layer height should be fine.

Also, if you want the best result, your printer should have a good fan duct. Mine didn't come out too well with stock fans and a Satsana duct, but more airflow should make the print better.

Category: Tool Holders & Boxes
