Pineapple Jack-o-lantern
thingiverse
I stumbled upon a fascinating online post about utilizing a pineapple as an alternative to pumpkins for creating jack-o-lanterns. Luckily, I had some orange-to-yellow color-changing filament on hand. So, I decided to transform an existing pineapple model into a jack-o-lantern. 10/16/2018 - I added a hollowed-out pineapple body to my design, which resulted in saving about 50 grams of filament. The inside of the pineapple can be printed without supports, but the mouth still requires support. To achieve this, I used the PE slicer version 1.41.1 RC to experiment with support blockers and enforcers. 10/19/2018 - I created a new hollowed-out pineapple model, Pineapple-o-lantern_body_hollow_blank, which features a more complex design than just a straight column. The bottom opening has a diameter of 26mm, allowing for a smoother transition. This blank design enables users to create their own customized versions by editing the filament settings. 10/21/2018 - I added two jack-o-lantern face designs using the new blank body. Printing at around 150% resolution is sufficient for me to use LED tealights effectively.
