PinArt Fidget Toy
thingiverse
This is not original in any way. I took the great pinart thing and doubled it in size to print as a fidget toy. It makes a brilliant fidget toy, but the sharp corners/edges on the cube aren't nice. I just imported it into Solidworks, added fillets and made it double the size in MeshMixer so it's ready to print. UPDATE: version 2 includes a lot more changes to make it more comfortable to fidget with - I increased the size of the heads of the pins and added a fillet to them as I didn't like the sharp edges on the original pins. I also shrunk the main part of the toy a little and redid the internal chamfers to make the thinner bit go the whole way through the thing for increased strength. This ended up with the pins a little taller and a little harder to print - but I've used the same gap tolerances as the original. Print with a line width of 0.52mm with a 0.4mm nozzle and at least 3 perimeters in the shell for a strong print. I printed at 0.2mm layer height in PLA and it's great - however the eSun silk shown in my photos here is a lot more fragile than stronger filaments like PLA+ or PolyMax - so those are better options! It makes an awesome noise with the layers rubbing when you're using it too. Checkout my make for better and more photos of it along with a longer animated GIF.
