PIN LOOM

i remixed the pin loom by Seminex222 to add slight more angle drop off to the inner square opening. when i took a demo class in pin loom weaving the instructor mentioned how she preferred pin looms that had an angle to the center opening which allows for more ease in moving the weaving needle up and down through the fabric/loom. also, even at only 15% infill, this file took 5+ hours to print! i'm not sure that the loom needs to be as thick as it is. i might cut some of the height out to give it a slimmer profile and take less printing time/material. used #18 gauge wire brads from Home Depot for the pins. hammered them in pretty snuggly without any additional glue needed. mine were only 5/8" long which doesn't leave much of a pin once hammered in. i might go for 3/4" if i make another one or other shaped looms. ***UPDATE*** i thinned the loom from 10mm thick to 6mm thick and prefer it much better in terms of ease of handling. it still feels plenty sturdy. it is also shallower and allows for the 5/8 brads to stick up high enough. the one thing to watch out for is with the thinner loom and the pre-printed holes for brads, i noticed that i could see the brads nearly come through the bottom of the loom. just need to ease up and not hammer in the brads too deeply.
