Pimax VS HTC Vive DAS Side Hinges (Angled)
thingiverse
I've been using velcro strips and other gadgets to try angling the top of my Pimax headset outward when attached to the DAS, but it's been a struggle. The positioning has been uncomfortable, and it often slips out of alignment. After experimenting with several designs, I settled on this one. First, I flipped the hook compared to the stock design and others, which means you attach them from the outside instead of pushing against the cowling to get them on or off. Since V1.0, I shortened the hinge itself and changed the angle from 30 degrees to 20 degrees, which seems perfect for my face. The chunky piece now stops the DAS arm from turning further by pressing against the top of it. This also makes the DAS more rigid. Personally, I prefer having the upper part of the Pimax HMD slanted outward and the bottom part closer to my eyes. However, some people like pushing the bottom part outward and gathering the top part in. If this is your preference, just swap the left and right velcro strips and they'll be upside down. This will hold the bottom canted out at 20 degrees. If you need any customizations or have feedback, let me know, and I can make quick revisions since I already have them in Fusion360 with small changes being easy to implement.
