Pimax Comfort Mod

Pimax Comfort Mod

This is a DIY modification for the Pimax 8K series inspired by the Pimax "Comfort Kit". It disperses the weight of the headset over a larger forehead area to make it more comfortable. Thanks to [krazycanuck2011](https://www.thingiverse.com/krazycanuck2011/designs) for suggesting this and for testing the design. There are two versions: normal and narrow face. You will need to create a larger foam gasket for it than the Pimax comes with. I'm experimenting with a sheet of memory foam cut to size attached to the comfort modification by wrapping it with hockey tape, as pictured. The tape was not very comfortable against the skin, so I'm going to cover it with fabric. The memory foam I used is 1 inch thick but not very dense so it compresses easily. It was maybe half as thick after wrapping it. A thinner foam might work better depending on the type of foam you get. I used a strip of adhesive velcro at the left and right edge of the modification to stick it to the headset. It felt pretty secure with just that. It was designed for use with the Vive Deluxe Audio Strap, but should also work well with the original Pimax strap.
