Pimax 8k/5K+ headstrap with headphones upgrade 2
thingiverse
New version of my Audio Strap for Pimax HMDs. I used a cheap gaming headphone from AliExpress that had a dead microphone and speakers, but the foam was still intact. The headphone fit snugly with the rigid part of the strap, which could have been smaller but worked perfectly. The inner size for the speakers is 40mm, which seems to be standard. If they are too loose, you might need some glue to keep them in place. Assembling the headphones involves snapping the two round pieces together after inserting the one with a grill into the foam. For the snapping parts, I printed them in PLA because ABS is too brittle and tends to crack easily. If you don't want to use headphones, you can simply print the HeadStrap Hardener. I updated the missing parts, including hinges. Sorry about that. The recommended size for the headphones is 60mm, but I also included options for 45/50mm and tilted ones that fit perfectly for me so far. I used those headphones with a pair from https://fr.aliexpress.com/item/32969877364.html?spm=a2g0s.9042311.0.0.27426c37HtBbrd, which are very comfortable and provide good sound quality, especially bass notes. The Headstrap Hardener has been updated to version 2 for flatter heads.
