The Piltdown Man was unveiled as a groundbreaking discovery in Piltdown, Sussex, England in 1912 by Charles Dawson to a gathering of British geologists. The find was touted as the long-sought "missing link" between modern humans and their great ape ancestors. However, in 1953, it was revealed that the skull was actually a fabricated creation made from modern human and orangutan bones. A plaster cast was created between 1930 and 1952 by F.O. Barlow of R.F. Damon & Co. in London. The endocranium was used to create this replica. A model of the Piltdown Man was crafted by Jordyn Gray.
