Pilot IC100 Cartridge Holder
thingiverse
I use my trusty Pilot Metro fountain pen all the time, counting on it to perform flawlessly every day. I always try to carry extra IC100 cartridges in my bag for emergency situations, but the cardboard box they come in inevitably falls apart and I end up digging through my cluttered bag to find them. I was impressed by the sleek design of the Apple Airpods case and decided to replicate it as a cartridge protector. I struggled to get the flip top mechanism to work like Apple's did, so I opted for 4 sturdy 8x3mm magnets to secure the top in place. This innovative design can hold 6 cartridges at once, equivalent to half a standard box. I encountered some difficulties printing the top of the cartridge protector. If your printer excels at bridging like mine does not, you may be able to print this model without supports, but I had to use internal supports to get it right. As a result, the outside of the case is smooth and even, while the inside of the top has a slightly rough texture due to my support material. I printed my cartridge protector with white Hatchbox ABS and finished it with a glossy coat of XTC-3D, giving it a sleek and high-end appearance similar to the Apple Airpods case.
