Pilot Headset Boom Mike Attachment for Headphones
thingiverse
To create a David Clark-like headset for a child or alternative Skype/VOIP headset, bend a clothes hanger wire into a U shape and wrap another section around a screwdriver shaft. Attach the two sections using an M3 25mm screw, washer, and lock nut. Print two plastic parts that snap together, place the cap with mic boom cutout on top, then secure it onto the headphones by drilling a hole and inserting an M3 screw with washer and lock nut. While not as high quality as David Clark headsets, this DIY version is suitable for kids or Skype use, and could potentially be adapted to earmuff hearing protectors for flight lessons or building experimental aircraft. Include .scad files for modifying the design using OpenSCAD.
