Pillar from the Amaravati Stupa
myminifactory
The base of a majestic octagonal pillar stands proudly carved in fine limestone, known as 'Palnad marble'. Intricate reliefs adorn its surface with vivid scenes: a sturdy pillar topped by a seated lion on a raised platform amidst lush foliage sprouting from a purnaghata; another pillar features an ornate vedika railing supporting a majestic dharmacakra above a tangle of stylized foliage; a yaksha blows a triumphant trumpet, sending forth a cascade of viney foliage beneath a serene pipal tree surrounded by delicate lotuses and a plain vedika; finally, a stupa rises above the foliage, its umbrellas proudly displayed. Inscriptions add to the pillar's grandeur. This impressive relic is part of "Scan The World", a groundbreaking initiative conceived by MyMiniFactory. Scan the World aims to create a vast digital archive of fully 3D printable sculptures, artworks, and landmarks from around the globe for everyone to access free of charge. It's an open-source community project; if you have intriguing objects nearby and want to contribute, simply email stw@myminifactory.com to learn how you can be a part of this noble effort.
