Pill cutter
thingiverse
I discovered a fantastic resource on thingiverse and gave it my own unique spin. The modifications I made and why they were necessary are listed below: I rounded off the connection points of the two parts, eliminating the tiny triangle altogether. This adjustment also allowed me to dispense with support material, which in turn granted me the added benefit of being able to fully open up the cutter. Furthermore, I extended the length of the cutter and straightened out the gap for holding the blade, thereby creating an opportunity to use various blades as demonstrated in the final image. To determine the optimal length of my blade, I simply measured its size and snapped it off at the correct point. The narrow gap between the two parts is precisely sufficient to hold the blade securely in place. If the blade happens to become dull over time, I can easily replace it with a fresh one. To assemble the two components together, I carefully opened up the blade holder and slid the two holes onto the small cylinders.
