Designing a pill cutter was necessary due to the difficulty in cutting pills and losing their halves. The homemade pill cutter is made of strong material that can cut through the pills easily and has enclosed sides to prevent the halves from flying away. This 3D printed device fits standard pills, requires no support material, and is designed with simplicity in mind. The Replicator 2 printer was used for printing these parts, featuring 25% infill and a .2mm layer height.
