Pill Crusher/Grinder Mixer for Mic-Key Bolus Feed / Continuous Feed

This device attaches to a pill grinder, collects the pulverized medication, mixes it with water, and allows for the solution to be drawn into a syringe for a Mic-Key administration. My sister has a G-Tube, which is a medical device that allows for food and her seizure medication to go directly into her stomach because she can’t eat enough orally, and the medicine can’t be consistently given orally. One process my parents have been dealing with in the past has been crushing pills for her, which has no streamlined process or device. Even in the hospital, a nurse resorted to using a spoon to crush medication for my sister. We have tried countless devices that are supposed to make pill crushing easy, but none of them are very effective. This is the solution I came up with. The whole process takes about 30-60s per syringe. To Operate ========= 1) Fill syringe 75% of the way with water 2) Screw device into pill crusher 3) Screw syringe into Mic-Key extension 4) Drop the pill into the crusher, and turn the crusher to crush the pill 5) Push water from the syringe up into the device 6) Draw medication/water back into syringe 7) repeat steps 5-6 until medication is thoroughly mixed 8) Close the Secur Lok 9) Unscrew syringe To Assemble =========== 1) Print out the file titled "Pill Crusher Mixer for Mic-Key Bolus Feed / Continuous Feed" 2) Cut a mic bolus extension 50mm from the enfit connector (68mm total length) 3) Insert cut end into device - file out if the tolerance is too tight 4) Ensure that viewed from the top, the extension tube is circular and not pinched - if it is, file out the hole 5) Optionally, tape the extension tube to the device so it doesn't pull out Thing Details ============ This device uses a custom thread to screw into a pill crusher/grinder. A printer with good tolerances will be necessary to print this out. The printer should also be able to print the small overhangs on the thread. Please use a food safe PLA.
