Pilar de las Granadas
sketchfab
Pilar located beside the Gate of Pomegranates in the Alhambra's woods of Granada. Completed in 1838 under Queen Isabel II's reign. The pillar is a smooth rectangle with two distinct bodies: the lower one has two pipes for water discharge on either side, supported by three Ionic pilasters. The upper body leans against those pilasters and displays a red cartouche with the inscription "Rebuilt this work in 1838." A square plaque bearing Spain's coat of arms is also visible. The pillar rises via a four-step staircase, topped with a triangular frontispiece. Materials used include red marble, white marble, Sierra Elvira stone, and brick.
