I designed a custom tool to extract shaft drive ends from a Piko locomotive, focusing on safely removing the retaining nut. To accomplish this task, I connected a pin directly to a screw using a cylindrical component. A nail with a cut head proved to be an effective solution for this purpose. The extractor tool's main body accommodates an M4 nut, which is securely held in place. By utilizing a 20mm M4 screw as a press, I was able to generate the necessary force to extract the nut without damaging surrounding components.
