PiGRRL 2 Inner Frame and Case Mod
prusaprinters

I designed an inner frame for the Pi Grrl2 so that all of the electronics are held together as one unit. That unit is then attached to the front of the case and the back is just a cover.

Makes assembly much easier. Cases uploaded reflect the changes to the internal structure.

Tap the holes in the frame 4-40

I also moved the charger board to the side to fit with the frame. This requires soldering the battery to the board. The USB should fit into the space on the frame.

The Amplifier board is then tucked under the ribbon cable by the button PCB. I would suggest taking power from the Pi's 3.3v on the GPIO - it cleared up A LOT of my audio problems.

The battery sits below the ribbon cable as originally designed.

The back shoulder buttons are just buttons. If you line them up correctly and glue them down you won't have to cut the case - I just didn't line them up well and using the Dremel was easier than reprinting or dealing with the superglue.

The USB hole is larger in the stl than it was on the version I photographed. I fixed it before uploading and it should be fine now.

Print Settings

Printer:

Dremel 3D40

Rafts:

Doesn't Matter

Supports:

Yes

Resolution:

300um

Infill:

Doesn't matter

Notes:

I printed this with both PLA and Nylon.
