Piglet - Sun Catcher
thingiverse
Here's my attempt at creating a sun catcher using a simple design and transparent filament. I'm featuring Piglet from Winnie the Pooh in this project. The frame serves as a leading edge, similar to a stained glass window. To achieve this effect, you'll need to print it with transparent filament, making sure to switch to black at the layer where the lead lines would be. Once the frame is complete, you can insert the colored pieces into their designated gaps. I used PVA glue for this step and allowed it to set over several days. To ensure a smooth finish, I used PLA filament for most of the project. However, when I couldn't find a suitable translucent or transparent PLA in the right color, I had to resort to using PET instead. This worked well in some cases, but I did need to sand down the PET pieces slightly to get them to fit properly.
