Piggy Banky

Piggy Banky

This is a piggy bank that I've designed partially in Blender, partially in FreeCAD. It has a top opening of about 4 x 32 mm so it fits the coins of most currencies. The bottom opening is 30 mm in diameter. The body of the pig prints ideally from PLA with a considerably wide brim and tree support. The tree support is the easiest to remove from the inside. The infill can be set to 0% to save material, but the wall line count should be 6 to make it strong. Since it was designed in Blender, the size measures are a bit messed up. Cura does increase the size automatically by 10000 and makes it work. However, in case you use a different slicer that doesn't do it, the included "help cylinder" helps scaling it correctly. If the cylinder fits into the bottom opening, it is scaled right. The plug has to be printed from TPU, but it's an easy shape so it can be printed on stock settings with no support even on a bowden extruder. The deep eye version is best with 7 or 8 mm googly eyes, while the shallow eye version is better for painted eyes or stickers. It can be used with googly eyes too, although they will protrude a bit further out giving a different look. It's a cute decoration that also has a purpose. Can be a great gift idea.
