I wanted to test my printer's accuracy at reproducing a scanned object, so I picked a small clay piggy bank souvenir that a friend had given me. After scanning it, I hollowed out the mesh in Meshmixer and then made some final adjustments using Zbrush. You'll want to print this model with supports for the bottom, but because it's hollow, automatic supports will be added inside - so remove them from the file before printing. This design should also scale up easily.
