Piggy Bank

Piggy Bank

thingiverse

This is a scan of a slip cast piggy bank I created while in middle school years back, in a bygone era. The original model is on the left. The scanned file is hollow and features a hole at the bottom for a rubber stopper as well as a coin slot in the pig's head. He was scanned using an older NextEngine model with 32-bit Proscan software, then cleaned up using 3D Coat. He is sized to print from the bottom up on a Rep2, but should scale easily. I recommend adding supports for his chin and snout. Since he is hollow, automatically setting supports will result in support material inside him. Print him with a low infill percentage or zero if possible, as he is a thin-walled object. We'll discuss this project and more 3D printing and scanning topics on the 3D Printing Today Podcast!
