This pig metacarpal bone was unearthed archaeologically from a quarter allocated for enslaved servants at the Oak Hill plantation site (44PY440). It was discovered in Room 2, Test Unit 2, Layer C, Feature 1 during an excavation on November 15, 2015. A NextEngine Desktop 3-D scanner captured its precise dimensions. Dr. Elizabeth Moore identified it. The Virginia Museum of Natural History graciously provided the image.
