PID Control Box - Kiln/Foundry
thingiverse
I am building a Kiln/Furnace PID control box to manage my electric furnace or kiln. This project can also be adapted for any other device that requires PID control. I used an XMT7100 PID controller and a 25A SSR from eBay. To mount the SSR, I visited Jaycar and purchased a large heat sink for around $12. I then cut it to fit the width of the control box and drilled holes for the SSR to screw into place. For extra security, I applied 3M extreme double-sided tape to the overlapping surfaces, firmly attaching the heat sink to the control box. When working with mains electricity, be extremely cautious not to cause any harm.
