Picture hanger for fabric cubicle walls - uses paperclips
thingiverse
I spend my days working within a fabric-walled cube farm, where the invisible supports behind the fabric occasionally hold a thumbtack in place but often fail to do so securely. I've accumulated several paintings and images on my fabric wall, which periodically require reattachment using thumbtacks that sometimes manage to stay put and other times don't. Determined to find a more reliable solution, I came up with an innovative approach. These small pieces of hardware feature a cutout through which you can pass small to medium-sized paperclips, allowing you to secure them at an angle within the fabric for a sturdy connection to the wall. The most effective results are achieved when the paperclip is inserted at a downward angle into the fabric, and the single-sided components have holes at both the top and bottom to enable flipping them over and using them on both the top and bottom of artwork. Cutting along the two long edges of a paper clip reveals three uneven U-shaped clips that can pass through these parts and be securely fastened into the wall. This means one paper clip can support up to three holders. Single-sided holders are printed with the image facing down, while double-sided holders are printed lying flat on their side. For me, the most effective method involves holding the holder in place with the inserted paperclip not yet protruding from the back, and then using a small pair of pliers to push the paperclip through the hole so that it becomes securely lodged within the fabric.
