Picture Hanger Corner
thingiverse
I decided to display some pictures on the wall without shelling out a fortune for frames. So, I bought some black cardboard, glue to stick the photos to the board, and blue tack that adheres well to walls. Next, I designed and printed these custom frames. I'm thrilled with how they turned out! For reference, the photo prints are 8x12 inches in size, while the black card is approximately 1.2-1.5mm thick. You can always insert some tacks into the gap if your board is much thinner than mine. If your card is too thick, you'll need to sand it down or adjust the CAD model. Alternatively, you could use six mounts per image instead of eight, or vice versa. The slot in the mount goes right through for this purpose, not just a corner cutout. To print these custom frames, I used supports and placed the bottom on the printer bed. Removing the support from the gap was definitely frustrating. I utilized pliers and a thin screwdriver to do so. Make sure you adjust your support settings so that you're getting minimal material in there. Alternatively, you could try printing it on its side or in two parts and gluing them together. If you try either of these methods, let me know how they work out for you. If you like my photos, I'd be honored to share them with you if you want to display them!
