A highly detailed, untextured version of the Wemyss Caves boat rock art is available for viewing. A full textured model can be accessed by following this link. For a clearer examination of the surface, view the model in metcap. This model aims to help identify what parts of the rock art are picked or carved and what is natural rock face. Removing the texture and varying the lighting reveals the outline of the boat more clearly. This was another experiment in unlit, unscaled, rapid photogrammetry conducted with a phone camera in challenging environments. Even when relying on a phone flash, detail remains visible. Similar surveys, scaled to repeat, could potentially identify damage or erosion threats over time. A remarkable RTI model of the boat and the cave's history can be found at Wmyss4D. The DEM below illustrates the issue of displaying depth on an uneven surface like the cave rock. The boat remains clear, however.
