This revised design replaces all previous versions, primarily tailored for use with the Pico hot end. An OpenScad file is included to enable customization to meet individual configurations. To minimize weight on the hot end, this version mounts directly onto the x-carriage rather than the hot end itself. The OpenScad file generates two distinct fan scoop sizes: a half-height design suitable for use with my Hadron OrdBot 50mm extruder fan mount (https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:589510), and a full-height model adaptable to most setups. No support material is required as it has been incorporated into the STL model; simply remove any break-off supports after completing the print. Successfully printed in PLA using my Hadron OrdBot, no ABS is needed since the fan scoop doesn't physically contact the hot end directly. To confirm proper cooling according to Pico's instructions, a laser temperature tester was utilized on the Pico hot end during this process. Instructions: This design complements my "OrdBot Hadron extruder 50mm fan mount" (https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:589510) for optimal use. The source OpenScad file is provided for direct editing, and it can generate both the Half-height version of the fan air-scoop (for my 50mm extruder fan mount) and the Full-height fan air-scoop. For reference, a PICO hot end model is also included within the SCAD file to demonstrate proper installation of this air-scoop design, designed specifically for use with a 50mm fan and aligned properly for cooling efficiency. Important: Ensure that the air scoop is mounted so its lower edge extends above the solid-heat-zone of the Pico hot end. Print Instructions: 1. Print with an infill of at least 20% using layer heights between .2mm-0.4mm. 2. Optimize prints by using PLA as your filament material. 3. STL files have been provided for both half-height and full-height versions; simply use them without need to edit the OpenScad file if preferred. This design was thoroughly tested: I printed both a half-height and full version, successfully installing each on my Hadron OrdBot with ease and efficacy. These objects are designed for customization, so don't hesitate to make any modifications as needed for your unique printing requirements.
