A Hilarious Scene from the Beloved Pickles Comic Strip! If you're unfamiliar with the classic comic strip by Brian Crane, I strongly encourage checking it out online. The characters are endearingly quirky, and my wife and I adore the strip. Meet Earl, the lovable husband, and Opal, his charming wife - they're a perfect pair. The 3D model I created is based on the 25th anniversary scene of the Pickles comic strip, which you can see below. After assembly, the completed model measures 128mm x 189mm x 203mm high, with no need for supports! Print Settings: Printer: FlashForge Creator X Supports: No Resolution: 0.2mm Infill: 10% Notes: A few smaller pieces might require a brim or raft; see below for specific printing suggestions (keep in mind that personal preferences may vary). How I Designed This: I used the picture below as my model guide, with input from my wife to translate it into a 3D design using Blender. A final render from Blender is included below. To ensure supports weren't needed, I follow a rule: no angles greater than 60 degrees in my models. I also strive to stay true to the original picture while considering this limit. Color Matching: I had trouble finding colors that matched the originals, so I bought two new ones and took some creative liberties with the overall palette. Assembly Tips: - The diagram below will help with assembly. A larger copy is included in the downloads section. - Glue the model together carefully to avoid getting stuck. - Position hands/arms/legs while gluing connecting pieces to allow for flexibility. - Place eyeglasses on faces with bridges down, just over the nose.
