Pick Holder
thingiverse
Hey everyone! I've just uploaded a thing for you all to test out! This project of mine might have some design flaws that I overlooked, so bear with me. The purpose of this design is to hold your picks close by when playing guitar, also minimizing any excess string noise that occurs during intense strumming or low tunings - think of it as the "Jimmy Clip", do some digging and find out more! You can place it on a standard 6-string or wherever you fancy, but its optimal position is just after the nut on your headstock, snugged between the strings. Check this - the measurements for this part come to about 70x17x13 millimeters in total dimensions. As I've just joined here today (for those who noticed [Edit]), I've included a handy gallery that explains step by step how you should put this together - pretty simple really! Now, from what you need, I only ask that you use the files labeled "Top Part" and "Bottom Part" for your printing. You might wonder about those extra 2 attachments, well let's say these represent just some flexible materials I tossed in - so please take your time with them as if changing up might help in giving it an upgrade! Using a bit longer bolt and perhaps that small hex nut should work fine, along with selecting that rather firm yet resilient steel coil that gives that desired fit. Note the parts' measurements were carefully calculated using CAD to get 49x14mm with an adjustment depth from top at about millimeters in thickness 5 & another around 2 respectively - now you can just simply place those inside of spring & rubber - but you do remember I suggested a different material that may even wood. Last minute mention! The design lets you set a distance between picks with precision (I decided this gap would end up at around millimeters, in this specific implementation though - it all should easily fit within your favorite tool if editing desired adjustments needed feel welcome edit freely!).
