Picatinny Rail Adapter for Steyr M9
thingiverse
This was meant to be the first prototype of a Picatinny rail adapter for the original Steyr M9 (non A1/A2). I originally wanted to create a two part - screw together - kind of thing. But after seeing how perfect it fits, I didn't feel the need to go any further. For mounting, I took off the slide and used a vice to carefully press the adapter on the bottom of the M9. Be careful there! I did need to file/sand the bottom of the hooks down a tiny bit, but still needed quite a considerable amount of force. Sits very tight and doesn't move a bit. Haven't tried it on the range yet, though. If you want to customize: I guess it could work with a little bit thinner side walls (mine are 3mm) and it could use a tiny bit of extra play on the hooks (maybe 0,1-0,2mm on the bottom and the sides). Have fun :-)
