Picatinny adapter for Bug-A-Salt
thingiverse
Makes a snug fit at the top of a Bug-a-Salt, requiring some support. Print with the picatinny rail facing upwards and adapter edges aligned on the printing bed. Bridging is necessary due to the design's complexity. Afterward, apply gentle heat using a torch, lighter or oven burner to soften the material, then press it firmly onto the Bug-a-Salt and hold until it cools down completely. The result should be a secure fit into the top-side reliefs of the Bug A Salt. A Solidworks file is available for modification or improvement purposes. Consider splitting the design into two parts: the rail and adapter section, which can then be glued or screwed together. This approach would allow each part to be printed with a flat face directly on the print bed without support or bridging issues. The original model was created as a quick prototype for fun.
