PI5 Case ICE Tower 52pi
thingiverse
PI 5 CaseThis is a case for the Raspberry PI 5 with the ICE Tower from 52pi. Added a alternative Top with honeycomb holes. This alternative design is easyer to print with SLA than with FDM, but both will work.PrintingPrint the fan grid twice ;)FDM (PLA)There is no need for support for printing, four small supports for the screwholes are included in the base STL where it will be needed. Print the hood upside down and the fan grids with the flat outside noses down on the printbed. The overhang can be done by any printer I've seen yet without problems.SLA (ABS-LIKE)Printing this design on a SLA-Printer should also work without a problem. For the fan grid's I highly recommend a ABS-like resin, or an other with some flexibility in it. The grids have to be compressed on mounting, a brittle resign could break at this process.Additional MaterialsYou don't need any extra Material. All you need is a Raspberry PI5 and the ICE-TOWER-COOLER from 52pi. All assembling material is included in the cooler package.AssemblingFix mounting brackets with two M2.5 screws to the Ice Tower Cooler. Do this excatly how it is described in the assembling guide from the cooler. Now mount 4 hexagonal copper sticks into the hood. The holes should be the right size for the threading. Then mount the cooler inside the hood using the next 4 hexagonal copper sticks. The power cable of the fan has to be on the side where USB and LAN connector holes are.Paste the thermal tape to the cpu on your raspberry (use only one pad if there are more). Don't forget to peel of the protection from the termal pad (both sides).Connect the fan cable to the connector near the USB connector on the board. Cable is short but you can do this. Spot the direction from the plug before, it's like USB turn it at least twice before it fits. :DPlace the board in the hood, take the base and the 4 M2.5 screws and fasten it to the case.At last you can insert the SD-Card. The SD Card sits very flush with the case, probeably you will glue a small extention to the card for removal.Fan grid's fit in the holes when you compress it a little bit and snap in place.DisassemblingBackwards than assembling. Obey your SD-card when disassembling, remove the base gently.
