Pi Zero W with Automation pHat
thingiverse
A creative twist on mugbean's Pi Zero W Case adds a mounting point and extra height for Pimoroni's automation phat. I chose this case to mount the combined Pi Zero and pHat to my garage door opening, where the pHat provides a relay for operating the garage door opener. A bolt used for mounting the case also serves as a great place to mount the antenna for my RTL-SDR, which I use to listen to various sensors in the garage and house. To assemble this project, print off four spacers that should fit between the boards, with pegs hopefully dropping into the mounting holes on the PCBs. Getting the standoffs in while pushing the pHat down into the Pi requires a bit of trickery. Once the standoffs are in place, put the unit into the case. The case is a tight fit, so care should be taken while pushing it down as the USB and HDMI ports drag on the side of the case (I pulled the case out slightly while pushing the boards in). Before putting the lid on, wire up the pHat. The lid is a snug friction fit.
