Pi ZERO w/insignia usb hub case
myminifactory
This project was designed to solve a major problem I have: no patience. When I received my Pi Zero, I was eager to get started with the Zero4u add-on, but Adafruit was out of stock and I needed power and USB ports to go along with my zero. I stumbled upon the Insignia 4-port USB hub at the electronics store, which comes with a 5-volt, 2-amp power brick. This gave me the power and ports I needed, but it was also quite cumbersome. I designed this case as a way to tidy up the clutter, and it works beautifully - I hope it will work for you too. The model number of the hub is NS-PCH5421. If you're interested in taking your project to the next level, there's some soldering involved, but a JST connector between the hub and the zero would make life much simpler - something to consider. I printed this case at 238 degrees Celsius with 60 mm layers and a height of 0.2 mm for the box and 0.1 mm for the lid. The 45-degree slant on the XY axis helps reduce wobble, while keeping the face flat. The lid will need to be rotated 90 degrees in your slicer before uploading. I used an Anet A8 printer that was badly in need of a teardown, cleaning, and tightening - but with settings adjusted accordingly, it produced a workable piece you see here. A video detailing this project's creation is attached to the description below, but be warned: it will likely take longer to watch than it did for me to write this.
