PI V2 Cam Case and Mag Mount

PI V2 Cam Case and Mag Mount

This is my take on a mount for a PI V2 camera case coupled to a magnetic mount that will fit an Ender 3 as well as a GeeeTech A10, and probably a lot of other similar printers based on the same platform. I tried a bunch of cases and did not like any of them. Pretty much all the cases out there are designed to either snap together or slide together, and unless you get a perfect print, most of the time don’t fit together that well. They also require you to take the case apart if you must disconnect the ribbon cable, and I wanted one that I could connect and disconnect without taking the case apart. It uses M3 by 12 mm hex machine screws to hold the case together. And M3 screw will fit through the holes in the back of the case, while the holes in the front of the case are slightly smaller, which means you don’t have to use nuts to hold the two halves of the case together. The case attaches to the swivel with an M3 by 16mm screw, while the swivel attaches to the arm and the arm to the magnetic base with three more M3 by 12 mm screws. Two 18 mm x 5 mm magnets go in the large holes and hold it against the base of the printer, while the two smaller holes fit over the screws holding the mainboard to the rails. These were printed on a GeeeTech A10T. I find the print turns out the best if you use 100% infill with a 65% outline overlap and a print speed of 1200 mm/min. I designed this to print with no support, as support on items this small is problematic. The hole in the case front to mount to the swivel is small on purpose to avoid support issues, and needs to be drilled out with a 3mm bit.
