pi_camera_ribbon_guard (failure)
thingiverse
Some connectable tunnels are in the works for an extra long ribbon cable that will be connected to a raspberry pi camera.\r\nThe plan is to make a rigid channel underneath my ender3 bed, and then somehow connect a cable chain guard the rest of the way to the Pi.\r\n\r\nv0 - Failure. The joints (I don't know the term for the peg and the hole) are weak. I printed at 10% infill, which might be the problem. The pegs fit very tightly. After dry fitting them, I broke several pegs off trying to disassemble. Also, the shear length of the tunnel causes torque if you don't handle it carefully, snapping pegs. I am planning on CA glueing this together and seeing how it holds. Maybe using some scrap raft/supports from other prints as support.\r\n\r\nv1 - Failure. I'm going to revisit this, and either make it so the joins slide into each other (like shop vac accessories) or flare the ends out sideways, then add holes for M2/M3 bolts/screws. The ribbon pushed through, but was too thick for where I wanted it.\r\n\r\nv0b - Mostly 1 had a brilliant idea of just cutting a channel near the ends, so I can assist the ribbon if it gets stuck. I will try next.
