Pi cam cover with square hole
thingiverse
This is a remixed cover design for the Pi Camera Mount created by theodroid. An 8mm square hole was placed in the center, slightly larger than actual part dimensions and tolerances, to accommodate an ArdCAM module (SKU:B0033). Although the placement of pin/hole boards and shell mounts was correct, I struggled with them holding the assembly together. The pins were fragile on my prints and kept breaking off too easily. An additional remix allowed the case front/back to be secured with fasteners. Special thanks go out again to theodroid for the original design: http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1718628 Print Settings Printer Brand: Printrbot Printer: Simple Black Rafts: No Supports: Yes Resolution: .20 layer height Infill: 20% Notes: I used supports everywhere in Cura. The 'remix' is only for the front case cover, or the fastener-assembled version of the cam case. I utilized theodroid's original stl/designs for the arm and mount components. Post-Printing Cleanup After printing the rear shell, remove supports from the slot very carefully before extracting the main body supports. Be cautious not to tear off the thinner edge of the cable slot when removing the rear case support materials. Following removal of support and general cleanup, I fastened my build together using M3 (6mm long) cap screws and nuts. How I Designed This This was re-mixed by importing stl files to DesignSpark. After importing an object for modding: 1) Select the entire object 2) Right-click the selected object On the popup menu click Convert to Solid. I used 'merge faces' on the submenu.
