Pi Box

thingiverse

This lunchbox-sized case is designed for Raspberry Pi projects, particularly ideal for a RaspBMC media center setup. However, it can be used for various other purposes. The case addresses the common issues faced with Raspberry Pi, such as lack of power button and tangled wires from multiple connectors. It aims to provide a neat and clean housing for the project. Constructed with four pieces, this model is compatible with an M2 printer by Makergear. Customization is possible through Sketchup files provided. The main base holds USB hard drive, powered hub, power connector, switch, and panel-mounted HDMI, USB, and LAN connections. A divider plate secures the USB hard drive, protects the power switch, routes cables, and provides support for additional hardware mounting. The securing plate fastens the dividing plate to the base and can accommodate extra components if modified. Lastly, a simple top piece completes the box and can be customized as desired. An updated version (V2) is mirrored, changing the Raspberry Pi's orientation for those who do not need external RCA and audio connections. Printing results of this new version are awaited from users.
